Research Interests

Professor Vassallo is a translational researcher focused on neuroendocrinology. Her investigative approach is collaborative and multidisciplinary, spanning the fields of human genetics, molecular biology, epidemiolgoy and clinical endocrinology . Her research projects include: 1) elucidating the genetics of pituitary tumorigenesis; 2) studying the role of AIP in pituitary tumorigenesis; and 3) studying modulators of the cAMP and wnt pathways in the pathophysiology of pituitary adenomas.

Clinical Expertise

Her clinical practice covers a broad spectrum of endocrine conditions with a focus on neuroendocrine disorders including specialised clinics dedicated to the management of pituitary adenomas, hypopituitarism and hypogonadism.
