Professor Gromoll is an endocrinologist working at the Centre of Reproductive Medicine and Andrology (CeRA) at the University of Muenster, Germany. He completed his PhD in Zoology in 1990 and then joined the team at the CeRA, where is the head of the molecular biology group. His main interest is the endocrine regulation of reproduction with a focus on the gonadotropin/gonadotropin receptor system. By using molecular biology tools he is studying the genome and the transcriptional regulation of these factors. He is acting as an associate editor in several endocrine or reproduction-related journals. Since 2009 he is heading a nation-wide research unit studying the potential of germ cells.
