Research Interests

Mr. Acierno is a basic scientist specializing in gene discovery for a variety of neurodevelopmental and reproductive disorders. Educated at the University of Pittsburgh, he spent several years doing clinical work before venturing into the field of genetic research. His current interests are the genetics of GnRH deficiency, specifically hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and Kallmann’s Syndrome. Prior to joining Dr. Pitteloud’s team at the Centre hospitalier universitaire vaudois (CHUV), he spent nearly a decade as a Senior Applications Scientist working with Next-Generation Sequencing at Illumina, Inc.
