As of 14 May 2025, the Montétan Hôpital de l’enfance will close its doors for good. Paediatric emergencies, as well as most paediatric consultations and hospital stays, will henceforth take place at the hospital complex, at the new Children’s Hospital.
In addition, as of 14 May at 6 AM, if you have to go to the CHUV’s paediatric accidents and emergencies department, go to the new Children’s Hospital, at rue du Bugnon 52, 1011 Lausanne, just above the CHUV’s M2 metro.
As a reminder, if your child is ill or has a non-life threatening accident, your first response must be to call your child’s doctor. This person knows your child best medically and will be able to advise you.
If your child does not have a paediatrician or if your paediatrician is not available, you can call the on-duty doctors’ telephone switchboard (0848 133 133) where they will answer your questions and guide you to the appropriate healthcare facility for your situation.
In the case of life-threatening emergencies, dial 144.
The new Children’s Hospital
The new building allows optimal care, without having to move through the city. By bringing together all of the CHUV’s paediatric medical-surgical expertise into one site, it offers a more functional, modern and welcoming environment, designed to meet the needs of children, adolescents and their families.
