Antimicrobial tolerance is the ability of bacteria to survive a normally lethal dose of antibiotics. This is exemplified in biofilm infections. Supported by the Leenaards Prize, our group is establishing a highly translational research project with John McKinney of the EPFL and Beat Roth at CHUV/InselSpital to combat antibiotic tolerance in the context of infections of the urogenital tract.
