Originally from Milan, I am a researcher with a deep passion for immunology and virology. I hold a Master’s degree in Veterinary and Medical Biotechnology Sciences from the University of Milan, where I graduated with honors. During my studies, I gained extensive expertise in molecular biology, immunology, and virology, developing a strong interest in understanding immune system dysfunctions and their implications in disease.

My journey into science began with my stay in Sweden, at Uppsala University, where I investigated the role of mast cell proteases in asthma. Back in Milan, I joined the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital, where I contributed to the development of a replicon-based high-throughput neutralization assay to test candidate inhibitors of Flavivirus entry. These experiences allowed me to hone my skills in immunology, virology, and molecular techniques and further fueled my interest in dissecting complex immune mechanisms. In October 2024, I arrived in Lausanne, to join Dr. Daniel Kaufmann’s lab, in the department of Infectious Diseases, as a PhD student. Here, I am delving into the complexities of the immune system in the context of HIV, focusing my project on unraveling the molecular basis of HIV-specific CD8 T cell dysfunction in people living with HIV.

In my free time, I love reading, traveling, and skiing, passions that help me stay connected to nature and new cultures.
