Best Abstract Awards of SSH & SSMO

  • SSH Award for Hemostasis, Transfusion Medicine, Vascular, Laboratory Medicine, and Benign Hematology
    Winner: Magali Humbert
    Abstract: Functional Platelet Generation from Engineered Megakaryocyte Cell Line Derived from Adult CD34+ Hematopoietic Cells Using a Modified Rotating Bed Bioreactor
    Magali Humbert’s work demonstrates a novel method for generating functional platelets, showcasing innovative approaches in cellular engineering for therapeutic applications.
  • Lab and affiliations : Collaboration with Olaia Naveiras Lab – Department of Oncology, Hematology Division (CHUV), and Laboratory of Regenerative Hematopoiesis, Department of Biomedical Sciences (UNIL)

 

  • SSMO/SSH Award for Experimental Hematology/Oncology
    Winner: Tiffany Que
    Abstract: Potency Tuned Novel CD70 CAR-T Cells with a Computationally Designed CD27:CD70 Binding Interface for Acute Myeloid Leukemia
    Tiffany Que was recognized for her work developing a novel chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) with enhanced potency for acute myeloid leukemia through computational protein design.

Ellermann Prize 2024 – "Relève en hématologie"

  • Winner: Frédérica Schyrr
  • Topic: Diving into undervalued topics: from sickle cell disease to the hematopoietic niche ».
    This award celebrates Frédérica Schyrr’s exceptional contributions to advancing research in hematology during her early training.

Jacques and Gloria Gossweiler Grants – Fellowship Award 2024

  • Winner: Maxime Zermatten
  • Abstract: Usefulness of Global Hemostatic Tests in the Identification of Patients with Multiple Myeloma at High Thrombotic Risk. The ThroMMbosis Study
  • Maxime Zermatten was awarded for his impactful studies addressing thrombotic risk in multiple myeloma patients and exploring niche topics in hematology.
