My current research is focused on the development of PET radiotracers to image biomarkers in the tumor microenvironment as well as methods to improve existing imaging techniques. This will allow clinicians to monitor therapy response, stratify patients and better taylor the therapeutic regiment to the specific patient. For this, I design, synthesize and preclinically evaluate the tracers using a variety of different methods such as organic synthesis, radiochemistry, in vitro cell culture and in vivo preclinical imaging studies.
