Diastolic dysfunction, cardiotoxicity of chemotherapy, congenital malformations

Highly accelerated MR techniques using compressed sensing (Vincenti, JACC-CVI 2014) combined with 3D high-resolution CMR techniques, T1 mapping, and MR tagging are under development to investigate these topics.

Collaboration with the Technion University Haifa, Israel, is established for data modeling (O. Vardoulis, JCMR, 2015).

A SNF grant for the evaluation of diastolic dysfunction is under preparation.

Highly accelerated MR acquisitions (CS-cineCMR) based on compressed sensing technique acquire multiple slices of the left atrium in a single breath-hold. Image quality is comparable to high-resolution 3D acquisition (acquired over approx. 10 minutes). Left atrial function can be quantified precisely using 3D- reconstructions. Source: O.
