John Prior

John O. Prior, PhD MD, FEBNM has been Professor and Head of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging at Lausanne University Hospital, Switzerland since 2010.

After graduating from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Zurich (ETH Zurich), he received a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (UTSW) and a MD from the University of Lausanne. He underwent thereafter specialization training in nuclear medicine and a visiting associate professor fellowship at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).

Prof. Prior is currently President of the Swiss Society of Nuclear Medicine since 2018, Chair of the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes (UEMS/EBNM) Accreditation Committee of Nuclear Medicine Department and Training Centers, and Liaison Officer between the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (WFNMB).
